NO CHILD DESERVES TO EXPERIENCE VIOLENCE.
Facts:
ONE BILLION CHILDREN EXPERIENCED VIOLENCE IN THE LAST YEAR ALONE - THAT’S HALF THE WORLD’S CHILDREN.
IN AUSTRALIA, ONE IN SIX WOMEN AND ONE IN TEN MEN REPORT HAVING BEEN PHYSICALLY AND/OR SEXUALLY ABUSED AS A CHILD.
AN ESTIMATED 120 MILLION GIRLS AND 73 MILLION BOYS HAVE BEEN VICTIMS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE.
This is what we know, one can only imagine the violence we don’t know about and potentially the increase children have experienced whilst being at home more, in lockdown.
I’m proud to announce that this year I have taken the role as an official Polished Man Ambassador. Starting today and for the month of October we are challenging people to paint one blue nail. Painted nails that spark conversations. Conversations that inspire donations. Donations that allow for trauma recovery and trauma prevention for children around the world. So that no childhood is lost to violence.

Polished Man is not about pointing the finger when it comes to violence, it’s about empowering everyone to become part of the solution. Men both perpetrate and experience high levels of violence, and studies show, are are often unlikely to step forward and ask for help. They are an important part of the conversation and the effort towards ending violence against children and celebrating men as carers, and protectors is ultimately about asking EVERYONE to stand together in protecting society’s most vulnerable.
I encourage everyone to take a stand and actively commit to helping end violence against children.
We all know it’s not right.
